We were very impressed at the quality of accommodation and the hosts were extremely helpful. The hotel is in an amazing position and it was just like visiting an old lost friend. The breakfast was just superb. Go there if you want a unique experience in an old fashioned hotel with superb hosts.
What more could one ask for on a frenetic year end business trip to the South Coast ..... the tranquility and serenity of an old colonial style guesthouse set in the most beautiful indigenous forests overlooking a beautiful estuary.
Rousting Hall is an exquisite destination for a business or personal getaway, great food and welcoming hosts.
Loved my stay and will be back.
We had an amazing stay at Royston Hall GuestHouse for our honeymoon! The guesthouse is beautiful, surrounded by a fresh breeze of nature! The forest its situated in , coupled with the river that runs through the guesthouse, offers a beautiful escape from the ordinary land busy life in the city.
A very pleasant visit to family history a little confronting for me ,hospitality was excellent and the service great in very elegant surroundings and we would recommend a visit to friends and family lucky enough to visit South Africa
Our 3rd time back. We love the atmosphere, the owners, staff & of course the dogs!!It has the most exquisite views of the river to the sea and surrounded by nature.A trip back in time to silver tea sets and lovely breakfasts. An awesome time every time!
The place is obviously stunning I don’t feel there is any doubt about it. From the building itself with its heritage and well researched history, to the epic views and wildlife. We literally woke up to fish eagles calling to each other over the river valley. But enough about the beauty, it’s apparent.
A stunning spot like this can only be ruined by 1 thing, staff. The Royston seems to have found the perfect bunch. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by an upbeat, lovely hostess. She played piano for us during breakfast each morning which really makes the whole historic feel come together nicely. The chefs and room keepers were lovely too, all smiles and laughter.
We stayed for 3 days and really wished we could have stayed for more.
I am in awe of this place.
The only thing we will do differently on our next visit will be to turn off our phones when we arrive. This place deserves your undivided attention.
Ps: haha we locked ourselves out of our room while on the balcony and had to climb around to an open window to get back into our room.
My companion and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent weekend away at Royston Hall, from the awe inspiring breakfasts ( I would return just for them ), the beautiful rooms, and the lovely peaceful gardens. Definitely worth a repeat visit 🙂 Would have enjoyed finding our more on the current owner
